Update on surgery
I'm doing pretty well. It is a little hard to use the computer but my vision is pretty good. I just have a small infection in my left eye. I was lucky enough to have a cold over the weekend and I think I infected my eye. The doctors say I shouldn't worry about it and I have to use special drops every half hour. I have been making notes and once I am able to use the computer better I plan on writing some posts about the surgery and the recovery. Overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

A farwell to my glasses
What do all of these things have in common?

Seeing or well corrective lenses. Tomorrow marks the first day since I was 10 years old that I will no longer need to use any of these items. I am going to be having PRK surgery done tomorrow. The only problem is the recovery time is very lengthy compared to LASIK. With LASIK you can see immediately and have almost no recovery time. With PRK it's not the same. It takes a long time for the cells to regenerate and that makes for some hazy vision.
I cannot have Lasik. I have borderline too thin corneas. It will be my first experience visiting a Danish hospital beside going to the after care/hours doctor.
The procedure should only take around 10 minutes and then I will have to basically spend the next couple of days in the dark since I will be very sensitive to light. I guess one good thing about having the surgery performed in Novemeber is it is very dark and rainy here. I won't really be missing the sunshine.
Today the weather gods allowed me one last time to really enjoy my experience with glasses and biking in the wind and rain. Hopefully it will be my last time.
Here is to being able to see clearing :)

Not much has been happening but today is a special day. I finally took off all the Iceland pictures and will try to post a few on here. It was truly an amazing place and I highly recommend to everyone if they get a chance to visit DO IT!!! M and I are already talking about planning on next trip there sometime in the future.
It's my birthday.
When this time rolls around every year I can never decide what I want or what I really want to do. I think the best birthday and birthday presents and just spending it with family or close friends sharing a good meal and laughs. This birthday M and I will be have a quiet night together just the two of us. Eating take out from my favor place from down the street, our first attempt to making brownies from scratch, and just enjoying a lot laughs together on this rainy day.

Test i morgen :(
Tomorrow is my first Danish test. It is level one and hopefully tomorrow I will turn in my level one books and get my new level two ones.
The test is in three parts, but I don't have to do all three parts. Tomorrow when I go into the testing classroom their will be 6 sheets of paper flipped over. I must chose one and this is what I will have to talk about.
One of the categorizes I could have to discuss is "the Novel"
We had to read three short novels/stories and write a summary about them and be prepared for questions if we were asked.
The three books I read were:
Jan kører bus, Du må hjæple Tea, og En gave til min kone
Jan drives the bus, You must help Tea, and A gift to my wife. I'm sure you can tell by the title they were very exciting.
The second category was a small summary about your family and where you live.
This is probably the easiest of the two since I just have to talk for a minute about one of these.
The third and last category is something I have to do and is the "Picture and question" section.
I will be shown a picture and based on this picture I have to come up with questions. Once I asked a question the tester will answer. Based on his/her answer I am suppose to try to come up with another question or/and ask another question. I think this will be the hardest part since I can't prepare totally for it. The other hard part is when asking a question the subject and verb are switched around in Danish. So not only do I have to think of the write words, but make sure I say them in the right way.
I have been practicing with Martin and hopefully it has sank into my head.
It should only take around 5 minutes which doesn't seem that long. Both my teachers have said that it is the easiest test and no one in our class has to worry. But I am still nervous.
Tomorrow or well (Sunday evening) if you could send some good vibes/ don't be nervous I would really appreciate it.
I will let you know tomorrow how it goes :)

And back again
M and I are now back in Denmark. We had a wonderful visit back home and also drove to see my sisters wedding. We had a really great time, but as always it was way too short. I always think when I am planning my trip back home that I will have enough time, but then once I am there I feel like I never do have enough time. I must now remember this and plan better.
I have a lot of pictures to download from my camera. I need to write about our trip to Jutland and Germany before we went to the states and of course about going back to the U.S
Stay tune for some pictures soon.

A break through
Yesterday I had my first full Danish "conversation" (a few sentences) with a Dane, a Dane I didn't know, and she didn't switch to English on me even though I totally pronounced most of it wrong or at least with a accent.
It was at Fotex.
This is a major breakthrough since most of the time I stand in line repeating to myself over and over again what I am going to say in Danish. I get up to the front of the line and the person says "Hej" and than I completely forget everything I want to say in Danish and just say it in English. But not yesterday :)
